The GE X$D ULTRA motor is an enclosed fan-cooled industrial AC motor. The high-efficiency motor utilizes improved materials and cutting-edge technology to develop excellent electrical and mechanical performance. As part of the Ecomagination initiative, GE needed to create an energy savings calculator to communicate the merits of transitioning from energy-guzzling motors to the more efficient GE motors.
Solution
An interactive calculator with an intuitive graphic user interface visualizes and calculates ROI and environmental impact in a creative way. The application enabled a creative marketing program to flag motors in a plant with red ("replace now") or green ("good for now") for customers requesting sustainability with green products. The calculator allows for thousands of potential iterations for multiple products with numerous variables.
