Barter Theatre

Situation

Barter Theatre, a respected regional theatre in Abingdon, Virginia, is a grand venue full of rich history and home to incredible productions. As part of the Theatre’s outreach to the community it serves, Barter Theatre wished to extend a quality theatrical experience as a creative learning opportunity for students.

Solution

n-tara interactive crafted a SIMS type online learning activity, full of interactive game play, which encourages participation and teaches theatrical production in a simulated teaching environment. Using a custom editor, Barter Theatre staff can effortlessly add new games for each new production.

Success

Dozens of schools throughout the region promoted the activity as an extended-learning opportunity, increasing brand awareness of Barter Theatre. Funded by a grant from Verizon Wireless, the e-learning game promoted current and upcoming productions by integrating characters from the plays into the learning experience.
